When choosing the size of ice rink you would like:

If your budget and space allow for it, go big. This way you won't have to worry about not having enough space for everyone at one time. No one will be bumping into each other. If you should move for any reason, the larger rink can always be made smaller, so it will work even if your backyard gets smaller!

The people that will be using the rink should be considered when choosing a size of ice rink. If children are going to be using the rink, you won't need a huge rink for them right away. We recommend purchasing a larger rink and making it smaller at first. You can always make the rink larger over time and won't have to spend the extra money every couple of years on a bigger rink. However, if an adult skater is going to be using it, the larger rink would be best since it gives them more space.

We have often heard "You Were Right! We should have gone bigger!"
